We gather every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for worship that weaves together the richness of tradition with creative, down-to-earth expressions of faith. At Bethany United Church of Christ, we follow the seasons of the church year in a way that feels alive, honest, and welcoming for longtime members, returning friends, and first-time visitors alike.
Our music ranges from classic hymns to more contemporary songs with a piano and sometimes other instruments helping us pray, praise, and reflect together. The songs we sing come from different generations and traditions, and we choose them with care so they reflect both our deep Christian roots and our commitment to God’s inclusive love.
Preaching at Bethany is meant to inspire, challenge, and comfort. Through thoughtful reflection, compassionate insight, and sometimes a little humor, our sermons connect scripture to everyday life—the worries we carry, the hopes we hold, and the questions we bring with us into worship.
Our services are designed to engage heart, mind, body, and spirit. We draw from the Revised Common Lectionary and other thoughtful resources, and we’re not afraid to try creative worship elements. At different times of the year you might encounter special services like Mesa Blanca for All Saints, or unique rituals during Advent, Lent, and other sacred seasons that help us experience God’s presence in tangible ways.
Communion at Bethany is a celebration of Christ’s wide-open welcome. We have it once a month with the exception of liturgical seasons, where communion occurs every Sunday. We understand the table as a place of grace, healing, and belonging. All who seek to follow the way of Jesus are welcome to share in the sacrament, regardless of church background, identity, or where you are on your journey.
We also care deeply about the health and well-being of our community. Worship is offered both in person and online. While masks are not required, we honor each person’s and each family’s choices and encourage everyone to care for one another with gentleness and respect.
You are invited to join us for worship this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at our church home on 10400 Old Preston Highway, or online from wherever you are. Whether you are longing for a sense of tradition, hoping for a more creative and spacious experience of church, or simply curious, you will find a warm welcome at Bethany.
