Rev. Cristal Encarnacion serves as pastor at Bethany with a deep love for preaching, pastoral care, and building communities where people can show up honestly as themselves. She is ordained in the United Church of Christ and brings together her work in parish ministry and mental health, believing that faith and emotional well-being belong in conversation with one another.
Originally from Massachusetts and born to immigrant parents, Cristal carries her Hispanic identity and lived experience into her preaching and leadership. Her ministry is shaped by justice, compassion, and a commitment to creating spaces that feel both spiritually meaningful and accessible.
When she’s not at church, you’ll likely find her with her spouse, tending to her two cats, writing sermons a little too late at night, or enjoying good food around Louisville!
Amanda Anderson serves as Bethany’s Office Administrator and brings both deep roots and professional experience to her role. A lifelong member of Bethany UCC, Amanda grew up in this community and carries a genuine love for the church and its people. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work, which shapes her thoughtful, organized, and people-centered approach to ministry behind the scenes.
Amanda helps ensure the daily life of the church runs smoothly and that communication, coordination, and care stay at the heart of all we do. Her long connection to Bethany, combined with her professional background, makes her a steady and compassionate presence in the office.
